Lakeway Golf

Area Courses

hills_lakeway_logo.jpgGolf at The Hills of Lakeway is Texas-scale, as well with four 18-hole courses of distinction. The Hill Course, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, and the Flintrock Falls Course, a Nicklaus/Nicklaus II co-design, bear the traits of championship golf at its finest. Painstakingly designed to complement and coexist with the unspoiled natural landscape and its numerous bodies of water, these two courses offer challenging play along with the renewing qualities of the paradise that surrounds it. The club’s expansive and comprehensive “Three-Hole Academy of Golf,” also a Nicklaus design, has been cited as the number one training and practice facility in the nation.

Lauded by the Audubon Society the Live Oak and the Yaupon courses are proud conservators of the amazing acreage upon which they sit. The club’s first courses, both Live Oak and Yaupon offer Members various challenges with rolling hills, demanding tee shots, and tree-framed fairway. Purple martins, ponds, and historic oaks celebrate upwards of 40 years of club history and a continued tradition of pride in the game.

Golf Members enjoy a robust program offering opportunities for every age and level of play. Award-winning junior golf programs and golf development clinics take place year-round, as do MGA, LGA, and a diverse and well-rounded complement of competitive and leisure play . The Hills Course is also the perennial host of the annual FedEx Kinko’s Classic of Austin, a PGA champions tour event.

spanish_oaks

Spanish Oaks Golf Club is unlike most residential layouts, this 6,930-yard design by Bobby Weed, is located on a single contiguous tract so that the flow is continuous. Every element of the design reflects the rustic Hill Country. The bunkers have a scratchy, unkempt edge with native scrub preserved around their edges. Weathered steel bridges span creeks, while the abutments and several on-site dams are faced with a native stone.

The club also has a well-conceived practice facility designed with multiple targets set in a rolling terrain that mimics the shot making that's required on the course. Always in top condition this course is challenging but foregiving.
